Verification of a feed observation, not an investigation
Florida Crash Watch checks what appears in selected FHP feeds and whether the fields meet its publication rules. It does not independently investigate a crash or confirm a source statement through interviews, medical records, or scene attendance. That distinction is why incident pages say reported by FHP.

The FHP RSS feed supplies listed CAD identifiers. The FHP HTML view adds available fields. The importer compares the two sources, checks for parsing problems and conflicting facts, and records a SHA-256 response hash in its poll metadata. A hash identifies received content but cannot reconstruct it; raw response bodies are not archived.
Each accepted observation stays associated with its CAD identifier. Qualification requires an approved explicit signal plus usable time, location, and a safe public projection. First-seen records more than 24 hours old, unknown codes, unclear roles, and conflicting or malformed fields are held. Summaries are assembled deterministically from supported information rather than invented narrative.
Our five-minute schedule is a target, not a promise of uninterrupted live coverage. Check Source Status for the latest recorded result. A healthy poll establishes that processing checks passed; it does not establish the real-world accuracy or completeness of every event.
