Florida Crash Watch observes the FHP RSS feed and related HTML incident view. It cannot detect an event that never appears in those selected sources, and it does not treat them as a complete statewide crash census.
Source coverage and collection limits
Local police, sheriff, fire-rescue, medical-examiner, and other agency records are not additional live detection sources for this site. We have not established an exhaustive agency, jurisdiction, or event inclusion rule for the public FHP feeds. Their availability and fields can change. An event listed and removed entirely between successful checks may be missed.
Not every observed item is published
The feed can include non-crash road conditions and crashes without a qualifying signal. Our site also holds records with unknown codes, conflicting facts, unusable times or locations, stale first sightings, or privacy problems. A source outage or degraded poll can delay public updates even when some response data was received.
Consequently, a missing page is not evidence that a crash did not happen, that no one was injured, or that no authority responded. The incident archive is a record of qualifying observations made by this system, not a denominator for calculating statewide crash rates.
