FHP incident records can contain a short incident code, a human-readable label, or both. Florida Crash Watch uses only an approved, versioned mapping based on observed source behavior. A code that is not in that mapping is not translated by guesswork.
Some codes describe a general crash without establishing injury or fatality. The site publishes an injury or fatality classification only when a trusted field explicitly supports it. Conflicting fields stop automatic publication and create a private review task.
Mappings may change only after source observation and review. This page should be revised whenever a new mapping version is approved so readers can distinguish an observed source meaning from an editorial inference.
